In Finnish mythology, Kuutar is the goddess of the moon. (kuu = moon) She is sister to Päivätär the goddess of the sun and the day (päivä = day). Together they are the goddesses of faith and they weave a web of destiny. We humans can see that web as dusk and dawn. Based on my original watercolor illustration (c) Niina Niskanen
