Moon Goddess Kuutar Original Watercolor Painting
In Finnish mythology Kuutar is the goddess of the moon and night (kuu - moon). She is the sister of Päivätär the goddess of the sun and the day. These two are the goddesses of faith and together the weave the web of destiny and us humans see this web as the dusk and dawn. I´ve always liked this myth, since in the end these two sisters are aspects of each others. Painted during my art noveau era- you can see this in some of the symbolism.
