Queen Mabb of the Fairies
In Welsh fairylore Mabb is the queen of the fairies. She is also a dream weaver and goddess of imagination. In pre-Christian times many of the Celtic tribes believed that fairies were protectors and guardians of mothers and children. Mabb was the first fairy godmother. She is one of my favorite fairies and subjects to paint.
Mabb´s symbols are butterflies, moths and spider webbs. She is also connected to the night, moon and stars.
